Dr. Devick, has founded a series of companies, including Blue Rhino, Platinum technology, and the King-Devick Test, Inc. (KDT) which initially established the relationship between eye movements and reading fluency. KDT has been extensively utilized in measuring saccadic efficiency as it relates to brain functions and has been validated as an objective sideline screening test for concussions. In the last 5 years more than 60 peer reviewed articles have been published in elite medical journals featuring KDT as it relates to mTBI, as a measure of quality of life in MS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and ALS, in addition to evaluating functionality in hypoxia, extreme sleep deprivation and reading fluency. In 2015, Mayo Clinic, for the first time in its 150 year history, executed a co-branding equity contract with K-D, which is now called the King-Devick Test in Association with Mayo Clinic.
